Pasture Wizard: how to play

Play now, it is free

What is Pasture Wizard?

Pasture Wizard is a free browser game. Voxel animals wander toward a Time Pit, and you shoo them away with number spells or by typing words. Nothing is hurt, and the animals just go back to grazing.

How do the number spells work?

Each animal shows a sum, such as "a number plus a number equals 13". You pick bits worth 1, 2, 4 and 8 to build the answer, then hold the spell for 0.4 seconds. Trying combinations is free. Only holding casts. On desktop the default keys are A, S, D and F, and you hover an animal to read its sum. On a phone you tap an animal and draw one stroke.

How do I play Spell mode?

Spell is a typing game. The lead animal shows a word, and you type it letter by letter. The pace follows your own typing speed and rises by 1 percent every 5 seconds, so slow and fast typists both get a fair game. On a phone a pixel keyboard appears on screen.

Which game modes are there?

What is the Paradox meter?

It is the only way a run ends. When an animal reaches the Time Pit it loops back bigger and harder, and the meter fills. At 100 percent the wizard is thrown back to the start of the day. There is no timer, the animals are the clock.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It runs in the phone browser with no download or account. Add it to your home screen for full screen play.

Is it free?

Yes. If anything is ever sold it will be cosmetic only and never give a gameplay advantage.

How does the leaderboard work?

After a run you can post your score under a name you choose. Names are checked for length and unfriendly words, and the only message you can attach is picked from a short list, so there is no free text. Scores are checked for plausibility on the server.

What data does the game collect?

Your progress is stored in your own browser. If you post a score, the leaderboard stores your chosen name, the score and a random player id. Read the privacy page.
